My Story:

I , the owner of Sunshine Clean Indy, at one time lived in a 14 by 80 mobile home with 4 children and a dog, Poco.  This was the 1980’s before Pinterest, and the first  Container Store opened in Texas in 1978.  I had a limited budget and for my sanity I had to do something.  There were only a few books (believe it or not) on the subject.  I read everything the library had on the subject of organizing.  I started with organizing a “bag” literally a brown paper bag, none of the cute containers we have today, and put what I needed in the car when driving around with 4 children. You know, snacks, bandaids, washcloth in a plastic bag, (no wet wipes then!) towel for spills, books for entertainment (no ipads) etc..Next I organized the kids room.

Example: I put books in a big dishpan on end, so kids could look through them (like a rolodex) without pulling every book out. Oh dear, I am telling my age, do you even know what a rolodex is? I organized my “bill paying station” . We could not pay online then. LOL. That way when I went to pay bills, everything from envelopes, stamps and pens were all in one place, making the process quick and efficient. I remember when sticky notes came along, very helpful!!!  And to think I used a small piece of paper with a paperclip to put notes on things.  I even made a complete “contacts” file with 3 by 5 cards and a recipe holder.  Many years have gone by and I now have 6 children and 7 grandchildren and 5 bonus grands.  Along with 4 grand dogs, that visit spreading their joy and hair.  OBVIOUSLY today we have more efficient ways and lots of HELP online to help us be organized.  There are huge companies that all they do is buy amazing, beautiful containers and organize all our stuff. BUT  I am unique in the organizing world.  I have more experience, I understand the word “budget” and can do amazing things quickly with what containers you already own.  Let me come alongside you and make your world better by organizing it.

Encouraging clients since 2010

I come from a long line of helpers. Grandmothers that were teachers, and a mother that was a nurse. Growing up on a blueberry farm, in northern Indiana, I learned the value of working hard.  I started working for a cleaning company in college to pay my tuition. That was a great experience. I really enjoyed coming into a mess and making it clean and orderly. I would leave with great satisfaction, to know I was encouraging a family to have a better life.  The employee that trained me at the cleaning company taught the importance of the details, folding towels nicely, seeing what needed to be cleaned, etc.. This experience helped to prepare me to start the best House cleaning service in Indianapolis, Indiana , many years later.  After marrying my high school sweetheart and best friend, we moved to Indianapolis. My husband took a teaching and coaching job in Indy.  Over 50 years have gone by, we now have 6 adult children (located in 5 different states, very proud of them all) and 7 grandchildren, 5 bonus grands and 4 granddogs..  Through the years I have always enjoyed helping people. I feel very blessed to be able to continue to help others by cleaning their homes. What is more helpful than coming home to a clean house?  It is not just the physical help, but the emotional encouragement as well.

In 2010 my daughter, Molly, was attending college but did not like it.  We decided to help people by becoming an LLC cleaning company that is insured, bonded and pays business/social security taxes.  Because of these expenses we are not the cheapest, but we strive to be the BEST House cleaning service in Indianapolis, Indiana . With many years of experience, we have come up with the fastest and best way to clean a house, using the least amount of chemicals possible. More recently another daughter, Abby has been a great asset to the company for several years.  My other daughters have also helped through the years with cleaning and marketing etc. My oldest son has given advice and support and my youngest son is a great cleaner because he sees the details and helps when he can.  I am blessed with a wonderful family!!!  As my family has grown and moved to start their own families, I have added other great people to the Sunshine Clean Indy team but we are all..caring people that clean.

Ashley is the voice of SCI, she answers the phone and emails and helps everyone, from clients to employees to Cindy.  She is our “tech person.” We interviewed many candidates for this position.  We even gave them an “admin test” to which she got an amazing score.  We feel she has the perfect blend of smarts and calm compassion needed for this job. She has only been with us for a short time but already feels like family!

Hi! I’m Ashley, the Administrative Assistant here at Sunshine Clean Indy. I’m the person helping you get scheduled, and one of the people making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Organization and communication are my thing—and I love being part of the support system that keeps our clients and cleaning techs taken care of.

Outside of work, I’m a mom to a sweet and lively 3-year-old daughter, and a dog mom to two adorable pups who keep our home full of love (and plenty of chaos). I also work part-time as a family-style photographer, capturing warm, candid moments for families. I’m currently earning my Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, and when I’m not working or studying, you can usually find me reading—I love getting lost in a good book.

Working at Sunshine Clean Indy means a lot to me because I truly believe in what we do: giving families back their time, peace, and comfort. I know how busy life can get, and I’m grateful to be part of a team that genuinely cares for each home and client like family.
